Drop
Luggage is weighted and repeatedly dropped onto its wheels and shell from various heights to evaluate impact resistance.
Zipper
Zippers are opened and closed thousands of times to verify durability.
Wheels
Suitcases are rolled over rough terrain for extended distances to assess wheel endurance and performance.
Handle
Shoulder straps, bag handles, and pull handles undergo repeated testing motion to test their strength and durability.
Temperature
& Humidity
Products are exposed to extreme temperatures and humidity levels to evaluate performance in various environmental conditions.
Tumble
Luggage is placed in a large rotating machine, tumbling over wooden and metal obstacles to replicate real-world baggage handling.

In our future lines, we are committed to further increasing the use of more sustainable materials while delivering the vibrant, durable luggage you love.
In 2025, approximately 45% of American Tourister’s net sales came from products that incorporate some recycled materials.
*While some of our products include recycled materials, we are increasing the number of products that incorporate recycled materials in other key components such as the outer shell. In 2025, the recycled materials incorporated in our products range from around 0% to 70% by total product weight.
